President Trump Pledges Firm Action Following Brutal Killing of Indian-origin Motel Supervisor
US President Donald Trump has sharply criticized the violent beheading of an Indian-origin motel supervisor in Dallas recently.
"Enough of being soft on these illegal aliens is ENDED under my administration," he emphasized in a message on his Truth Social platform.
Background of the Shocking Incident
The victim, fifty years old, was allegedly assaulted with a machete by his co-worker Yordanis Cobos-Martinez in front of his family after a heated argument over a malfunctioning appliance.
The accused, who is now in custody, has been charged with homicide.
The President’s Reaction
Trump vowed that the suspect "will be prosecuted to the maximum of the law" and will be "charged with murder in the most severe charge."
He also criticized the Biden administration, saying that the accused had been earlier detained for multiple crimes, including alleged child abuse, but was "released back into society because Cuba refused to accept his return."
Immigration Background of the Suspect
As per official sources, the suspect is an illegal alien with a final order of removal from the US.
He was allegedly in detention at a facility in Dallas but was freed on an order of supervision in January after Cuba "refused to accept him due to his background."
Victim’s Background
Nagamallaiah, who originated from the Indian state of Karnataka, worked at the Downtown Suites Motel in Dallas.
He studied at school and college in Bangalore, India, before relocating to the US in 2018. His son recently graduated secondary school and is preparing to begin college.
Details of the Incident
The assault occurred on 10 September. Police received a "knife attack call" and confirmed through preliminary findings that the accused had attacked the victim multiple times with an edged weapon.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on Mr Cobos-Martinez at the local jail, where he remains in custody.
Follow-up
The victim’s last rites were held on September 13 in Texas, with the presence of loved ones.
A fundraiser initiated to support his loved ones has raised more than $321K to date.
